PYRACANTHA ROGERSIANA VARIETIES
- Evergreen, dense spiny shrub which makes an excellent barrier
- Masses of white flowers in spring followed by red berries in autumn
- Tolerant of most soils & situations
- Ideal against walls or fences and is robust enough to make a solid freestanding hedge
- Should be handled with care as spines are 4cms or more long
- Some varieties have yellow berries and some variegated foliage
PARTHENOCISSUS TRICUSPIDATA VEITCHII
- Commonly referred to as the Boston Ivy
- Rampant growth coupled with brilliant autumn colour
- Self clinging with small sucker tendrils
- Excellent wall shrub or to cover unsightly buildings
- Is deciduous but forms a mat of interlacing stems
- Tolerant of most soils & most situations
CARYOPTERIS X CLANDONENSIS ‘Heavenly Blue’
- Small, showy late summer flowering shrub
- Prefers full sun and well drained, chalky soils
- Pleasant, slightly aromatic silvery green leaves
- Slightly compact habit with pretty deep blue flowers
- Popular plant for the later part of the year
POTENTILLA FRUTICOSA VARIETIES
- Dense deciduous small shrub with masses of small flowers over a long period
- Succeeds in almost any soil, is very tough but prefers full sun
- All have wiry twigs with small leaves & frequently look rather dead in the winter
- Flowers often yellow but are available in pink, white and orangey red
- Easy to grow and a favourite for the garden
EUONYMUS ALATUS
- Commonly called the Spindle bush
- Attractive deciduous medium-sized shrub or sometimes a tree
- Brilliant autumn colour, probably the best of all
- Broad corky wings produced on stems are a feature in winter
- Flowers open to show small orange seeds which are produced in abundance where several plants are grown together
- Is tolerant of most soils and most positions
