We all enjoy wrapping up in hats and scarves, eating toffee apples and lighting sparklers come November. For the perfect bonfire night, either visit our display, or speak to our firework experts to make yours go with a bang.
Although it’s over 400 years since Guy Fawkes tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament, every November people all over the country still celebrate the anniversary of the great gunpowder plot, and Armitage’s are no different! Every year we stage a firework display at our Pennine garden centre in Shelley. The display is free and is a fun event for all the family. We also have a special bonfire menu in Café 1842, as well as a range of special offers in store.
And if you fancy hosting a display at home we have a wide range of fireworks in store at both centres to help you set up an impressive display for your friends and family. Whether you want a few sparklers or are organising a big display, you should find exactly what you’re looking for. Our expert staff will be on hand to offer advice and help you find exactly what you need to ensure an explosive event.
Just remember the following safety advice to keep you and your family safe this Bonfire Night:
• Keep fireworks in a closed box away from small children. • Always light fireworks at arm’s length, and step away from them as soon as they’re lit. • Never return to a firework once it has been lit. • When lighting sparklers, make sure you are always wearing gloves. • Keep pets indoors as they can become scared by loud noises.
Follow this advice and your celebrations should go with a bang, and for all the right reasons!
