Whether you boast a large country garden or want to liven up a small balcony, improve curb appeal or dress your windows, then container gardening is a great way to create a versatile, flexible and entirely portable garden in whatever space you have!
For a small garden, hanging baskets are a great way of adding colour even if you don’t have room for pots elsewhere, and hanging plants around the outside of your house can brighten it up on even the dullest of days. Armitage’s stock hanging baskets in a range of renowned names including Tom Chambers and Gardman, as well as natural moss inserts to give your plants the best chance of blooming.
Window boxes are another great way of growing plants if you don’t have a lot of garden space. Why not try growing a herb garden outside your kitchen window? It might even give you some inspiration when cooking.
Container gardening needn’t be seasonal, although pots full of bulbs or summer bedding are always welcome! In fact you can plant almost anything in a pot, even fruit and vegetables. For a permanent display, opt for an evergreen shrub or why not try topiary, Cordylines, Phormium or even Bamboo.
Alternatively, plant a pot up with drought resistant plants for the hot summer such as Lavender, succulents, Convolvulous, Geraniums or any silver leafed plants.Pots in the garden can make a huge impact and create a focal point. Armitage’s stock a range of garden containers, from heavy-duty pots to natural slate stonewear and traditional terracotta. Plus, we offer a range of pre-planted tubs in store or we can create a bespoke pot, allowing you to choose both the plants and the container but leaving the work to us!
The staff at Armitage’s have a wide range of suggestions to help you make the most of the tubs and pots in you garden, and our expert advice should ensure that you can design an attractive and eye-catching plant display.
