Summer may be here but it’s the perfect time to plant spuds for Christmas!
These Late season or Christmas potatoes are available in store from mid July as the tubers have been specially stored at low temperatures to ensure that later planting is possible.
Better still, they won’t need chitting, these can be planted straight into the warm soil to grow and your new potatoes will be ready to lift after flowering.
Remember though that potatoes are frost-tender, so covering them over with fleece, should help avoid the problems of growing potatoes in the colder months.
