Armitage’s Birchencliffe Garden Centre is celebrating after winning Best Christmas Display in the North East following a National Competition organised by the Garden Centre Association.
“Our centre does look fantastic this year and the customer feedback has been terrific.” Said Andrew Tyers, centre manager at the Birchencliffe Centre. “The team begin to transform the centres in September and it’s an enormous job, but the planning and effort has really paid of this year, we are delighted.”
The centre was recognised for its display themes including “Elegance” with winter whites, pearls and sophisticated statements with feathers and roses, “Shades of Autumn” using golds, coppers
and pearl plus cosy Christmas created with reds, silvers and white.
“We are really thrilled with this award.” Said William Armitage, director at Armitage’s. “We work very hard every year to create a wonderful Christmas shopping experience for customers and its always rewarding to be recognised with an award.”
The Birchencliffe Garden Centre will go forward to the national competition, judged in December, when all the regional winners’ Christmas displays will undergo further scrutiny, including houseplants, outdoor Christmas and the cafes, before the overall 2009 Best Christmas Display winner in the country is announced.
