The yuletide spirit was in abundance when a group of more than 50 people from the local Community Action Development (CAD) headed to Armitage's Birchencliffe Garden Centre for a
seasonal shopping spree.
The outreach programme, run by 2churchestogether - Fartown Trinity Methodist andCowcliffe Methodist - organised the outing on Tuesday the 24th of November for the local elderly community so they could shop for Christmas and enjoy a social gathering with good food and good company.
The group, which included helpers and drivers, also enjoyed a festive afternoon tea in The Old Shop Cafe at Armitage's. "What a wonderful group of people." Said Richard Kendrick,
catering manager at Armitage's. "We really enjoyed welcoming everyone into the coffee shop for afternoon tea and they clearly loved the opportunity to chat and shop."
