Tips for Late Summer Colour |
|
Plants that flower late in the season include Windflowers or Japanese Anemones, the Sedums, Penstemons, Crocosmia, Rudbeckia, Echinacea, Sidalcea, Verbena and Lythrum. There are many different varieties and colours available and given time they will often grow into sizeable clumps that can provide some striking hot and cool colours that will not look out of place in any border or position. With herbaceous perennials, it is often best to position plants in sunny positions for best results, although some (eg. Anemones) can grow very successfully in the shade. |
