If you’ve carefully chosen and nurtured your plants, having them attacked by pests can be incredibly frustrating, and trying to get rid of them can drive you mad. We know how stressful it can be trying to keep your garden pest free and so we have a range of solutions in store to ensure that your plants will be the only things growing successfully in your garden.
You can be proactive or reactive when dealing with pest control. The reactive approach involves getting rid of pests once you have noticed them affecting your garden, and the proactive approach involves tackling the problem before it gets to this stage. The staff at Armitage’s will help you decide which option best fits your problem, and so together you can attempt to solve it.
We have a range of chemical pesticides, all of which are safe to use around children and animals, which kill the majority of common garden pests including greenfly, blackfly, whitefly, aphids and caterpillars.
If you would prefer to avoid the chemical route, Armitage’s provide an organic alternative in the form of nematodes. These are naturally occurring enemies of pests which don’t normally exist in sufficient numbers to control pests effectively. By manually adding the nematodes to your garden you can combat infestation in a natural and non-chemical way. We keep a stock of the most commonly requested nematodes in store or they can be ordered and delivered straight to your door where they will need to be refrigerated until use. Watering them into your garden, the nematodes then seek out their host, enter the body through their openings and release bacteria that kill within 48 hours. As the dead grubs decompose, the nematodes are then released back into the earth and continue their good work until the pests are totally destroyed.
Armitage’s is also expanding its range of ultrasound and electronic technology for use in combating pest infestations. This is a revolutionary new way of deterring pests using electromagnetic interference, and can cover a wide area ensuring a long term solution to garden pests. Why not ask in store to find out more?
